MEERA-nating !!!

Here’s another pun at the Facebook ban. Ooops!! Am I late already? Have I put u off totally? Well, dekho yaar, ho sakhta hai kuch samjh ajayay..jao mutt… aik dafa perh tau lo na!! ;-))
No matter how many scientific and medical syndromes they have invented in the name of attentions seeking disorder, anorexia nervosa, bulimia, obsessive compulsive disorder, Parkinson’s - the one DISCOVERY I made tops it all..and YOU, YES,, YOU will have to agree with it.
It’s called Meera’s HYPER-VENTILATING, ATTENTION SEEKING INCURABLE SYNDROME - in short
MEERAnating! (quite close to marinating as she is always full of spicy gossip  that marinates our souls with mirth, SMIRKS, glee and earthquaky-laughter) .
The Meera-nating philosophy states that  “seek attention by changing your whole self”- pay the highest price for FAME- even if it means compromising your dignity or even clothes!. The very intelligent Meera knows where our buttons lie and how to push them right. Yesss!! Yours and mine too!! *don’t roll your eyes now—yess.. u there*
We see an item- a news or a rumour- we get sad, angry, we laugh , we comment and we forget. But what about the ones that propel us enough to make fun of constantly? That’s what Meeranating thrives on!!
Very cleverly, making US feel we are more intelligent than her, our English is better than hers(even a sabzi-wala thinks so now) and we can see through her lies by claiming in a group of friends” array yaaaar.. real story yeh hai k meera  itni bewaqoof hai.. issnay yeh kaam iss liyay kiya..Main batata hoon tum logon ko…bla blah “. And there we go all inside-news reporter style. And there SHE goes all in-the-news and talk-of-the-town again. Thanks to US! Another feather in her cap that keeps tickling our noses enough to sneeze more about her!!!!
You see?? It’s not Her. It’s WE who do the work for her. Making us feel what a Fool she is ,and letting us  search her you-tube clippings, watching her antics in slow mode a 100 times, pointing out each and every stupidity of hers  before forwarding it to our friends on Facebook, lets her be in the most cherished place- OUR MINDS- all the time!!!! and you thought SHE was stupeeed !! HUH!!
THE PINCHING REALITY INJECTION!
What do u do to promote your blog, page, website, your creative work? Try to make it loud, fascinating, updated and even irritating at times to get a response or two- maybe even showing yourself as a an Alien, crazy, whacky guy to get attention? Right?  Well, that’s what SHE does to promote herself too. On the same lines I give credit to the controversial blasphemous drawing page that gained a 1000 followers in a week or so and I m sure its page visitors consisted of more than a million Muslims? Right again?
So what if it was deleted or FB banned? Aren’t there 100 more on FB, orkut, individual sites etc. that are still out there and will be more? How many of us know about them? Or do you know my blogger search revealed a semi-Muslim, Paki blogger who claims to strive to legalise homo-sexuality in Pak.? His blog speaks of the rights of L+G+B+T( figure out the full form yourself) and he even has blasphemous images of Islamic personalities and their preaching.  Have u ever come across that blog? But yeahh that ONE FB page got so much response (or anti-response) in just one week and became the most searched page overnight even before the actual drawing day!!  What damage done u may ask? Ourselves, our anger, street crimes, fires, tires burning, slogans, unscheduled holidays, broken web links, 100+ site closures, awareness of this page and PLAIN SIMPLE PROMOTION!!!!!!!!!!
Like the Meeranating philosophy earlier it won again, Muslims were the BIGGEST PROMOTERS of this website. Check out each and every friend’s Fb page, emails, sms, orkut, blab la- is there someone who did not get a msg to protest for this page?  On the other hand, did u see any non-Muslim actually asking the other one to join it?(except maybe the home country of the competition)?
Do you realize what we have done?
Meeranating- this is called. I also got request to see this page on my FB group I shunned it as a form of inevitable promotion. I have not even seen the page/group- won’t ever. Did u try? Oh yes. You did, but got a broken link. You were curious nonetheless. Right? Come onnn now… don’t think of excuses!
Hey. Hello ! where are you going? You wont be a follower anymore? You found me irritating? Oh no.. I didn’t mean that. U see am Catgirl- I get FITS of frustrations… doesn’t mean u shud behave this way…don’t go..reply/comment..gimme star-ratings(they r yellow, but click on all 5 to increase the ratings).. WAITTTT. ..Puhleeeeeeez..DONT GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THanks Hamza.. formation as in the way it appears? blanks and breaks? well that's just for concentrated EFFECT!
and urdu in between is my style of being casual ad involving the audience. first time i used it though,'coz i m gonna promote my blog to the common man very soon!

Syeda Zehra said...

I know it's a casual to use urdu, but tell you what, only complete English blogs land in search engines.
Anyways best of luck.
PS;One of my blogging friend advised me to make my post short and meaning full.So try posting shorter ones. It'll surely attract more.

i say if someone has done/said something will i be f@#%%&g telling the whole world about it or do something quietly and effectively u guys tell???

Scandalizing, Meeranizing, it is a world filled with the proliferation of extraordinarily street smart tactics to get attention...

Brains, who cares! of course, this is the 21sth century, seems to be the most common cliche...

In my personal opinion, pretending to be somebody else or having illusory airs about yourself (be this in the case of celebrities (meera etc), or more common folks) is rather vain and flippant!

One is what one is, and there are no better alternatives you can find. Irrespective of the moral shams that we often concern ourselves with unnecessarily, one must be explicit in one's conduct to what one is...

Be that good or be that bad.........one must solely be one's self...

Javed Hayat said...

hey Catgirl.....

For a moment, I thought I have driven you away with my rather villainous conduct in everything I say and do...

But of course, u must forgive the eccentricities, i am only being myself...

good to have u back...

Good satire and certainly right way to jest on the knee-jerk reaction of our "oh-so-shabnam-style-jazbati" nation. I am amazed (and amused) that still no comment about you being infidel for jesting on ridiculous ban of FB in PK. (be ready for such labeling, for you have tread the dreaded waters of "logic vs religion":P).

A nice jocularity of character of PK nation. We are hungry for scandals and voyeurism in others' lives. Meera for one provides that to us, so we religiously post/share her videos to adorn our FB pages. May be that is our way of saying "thank you" to her.

And cartoon row was another example. No wonder political talk shows in PK get the highest viewership. We seek entertainment not information :)

cheers and regards

Love, Hatred and Anger exist only cuz we practice them while there is no logical *scientific* definition of their existence religion is not alone my friend....we should be worthy enough to witness things that are beyond our understanding......

Levi aren't we the nation of wanna-bees?? just look at us talking/writing in a foreign language and I doubt if all of this are for GORAS :)

CATGIRL !! said...

Thank u Ahmed : i hold ur comments in high regard like always..n esp if they happen to give amusement to me in return too :DDDD

@Fahad: our religion has all notions of love and and anger. dont get carried away wid this religion war. u know better how much religiously inclined I am, but we must listen to the 'social logic' with our ears and MINDS OPEN..and then beat them with "religious logic" !!

Javed Hayat said...

@Fahad: For the nation of wanna bes, you can certainly count me out...

I am who I am and owe absolutely nothing to my fellow 140 million (or more!) patriotic fools and neither do I owe a dime to the strutting white skin bashers of the west...

Coming to English as a chosen form of medium, as things have it, it has been shoved upon us by none other than by the supposedly great predecessors who has helped shaped this country the way it is 60 years from now ....

Read history, we have had our meer sadiqs, meer jaffers, sir syed ahmeds, liaquat ali khans etc etc (list goes on), who have proven to be faithful poaches to their white skinned, blond hairs masters!!!

I have absolutely no qualms communicating in any language other than english that becomes a dominant mode of communication, if not globally, at least in the sub continent,

@Ahmed: Define Infidel? :)

Javed Hayat said...

@Fahad: P.S., but I certainly do agree with your hypothesis regarding wanna bes.

Unfortunately, as a nation, we have too little of ourselves in us, and we go frolicking about delving into shells or appearances borrowed from sources no less shallow than us...

Infidel = (in PK perspectives) is a person who:
- argues through logic/reasons/observations/facts/proofs with mullah/closet talebans/born again tableeghies etc (and most of the time render them clueless)
- questions the authority of uneducated and science oblivious theocratic muolvi to pass "fatwas" ranging from moon landings to FB.
- disagrees (may be only sometimes) when "chaste" people and their cronies try to feed Arabic cultural norms to common people in the name of religion.

Dear levi my list of infidel will continue. To experience it 1st hand try to argue/question/disagree with "devotedly" religious person and i bet that the discussion with end with a fatwa where in you will be out of "Daira e Islam" before 600 seconds are past :)

PS: Those who disagree, with these definitions, you are always welcome to "disagree" but please keep the difference to "disagreement" rather than "hate" :)

Cheers & regards

CATGIRL !! said...

Ahmed, i agree wid u totally. Except that i m truly religiously inclined, but i don't Impose my ideology on others. I indulge in prayers., fasting, wazifas, religious books, respect Fatwas, see everything from a religious perspective BUT i am open to arguments and i don't breed hatred for either polarity !

i think Definition refers to something short and concise don't u?? i think some one needs to come up with a better scientific approach :)... food for thought science cannot define life and death?? search it and u will come up with 100s of definition...science is too young to put all your eggs in it :).
@levi :D :D :D u know me :d how much i enjoy when i hit where it hurts the most ;) and i love ur khar dimag approach :)
@catgirl being worthy means man Has always asked Allah that he will only believe when he can witness events with his own eyes.... i mean even to meet American president i have to be something they call elite :) ??.....
OMG I never questioned anything related to your faith...
u see what i argue is that science cannot answer everything and u cannot weigh everything through science...

About Cat girl's decision to carry on with Facebook is her personal decision. But in that matter I must say using Facebook isn't "Kufr" but it's all about the intensity of love.I hope everyone agrees that when in love one tends to do many such acts for the loved that don't have any real sense or effect.I think leaving Facebook is like that too.I'm in love in Muhammad pbuh, and will do crazy things to satisfy my love.

I suppose you really meant what you wrote or were you just kidding..?
Mufti Taqi usmani could be regarded as illiterate molvi..?
And I suppose you 'll say next that I don't believe in Muhammad pbuh as he was illiterate ..too.
...@!

Please clarify what you really meant..?

Javed Hayat said...

@Ahmed: For me, infidel is someone who can read and write and comprehend, if not in an extraordinarily refined way, in a reasonable enough way to be qualified as an educated specimen of the respected society. And yet, has not acquired enough common sense as to go on to argue/debate/logicalise with the universal facts of life described to us by a Being unimaginably superior than him in every which way.
You said: “- disagrees (may be only sometimes) when "chaste" people and their cronies try to feed Arabic cultural norms to common people in the name of religion.”
Well, Naozoobillah, but this is something Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and his Sahabas did, surely you have them in your list of “chaste people” .
You came up with a term called an “Arabic cultural norm”, well so is namaz, sunnat and the Holy quran part of the “Arabic culture norms”, because they all originated from the land Arab approximately 1400 years ago.
So was the word ALLAH first came into view in the Land of Arab just as long ago…
You are only out of “Daira e Islam” when you try to negate any single fact described in the hadith or the holy Quran. Nobody needs a fatwa to realize that he has finally crossed the thin red line of redemption and has plunged into the abyss. Our conscience barks loud enough for us to make us realize where we stand…
"devotedly" religious person!!! Sounds like a dull attempt at humor to me, I don’t see any “"devotedly religious people”. “Our devotedly religious people can’t even give up on FB!
Finally it is not agreements or disagreements, it is about truth, and there is no religion higher than the truth…
We don’t need a fellow being to tell us what is what and what is naught? We have the perfect manual of life available that we can always delve into and find out where we stand…

CATGIRL !! said...

@Hamza : calm down gentleman. i m carrying on wid FB but wid not the same zeal as b4 only 'coz i m more busy here. and yes, about some moulvis only being theocratic...well Fatwas are about theories based on Islamic preachings... there was no such thing as taliban in the days of Prophet(PBHU) so def. any STATEMENT for/against them has to be based on IJMA (consensus of opinion). or Qiyas(analogical deduction)...the 2 strongest pillars of wisdom after Holy Quran and SUnnah !!

CATGIRL !! said...

Ahmed: if u care to reply kindly ARGUE,but tone down ur usage of words when talking about religious personalities of modern day. I m pretty much opinionated BUT I WONT SHOW MY POINT HERE.

@Fahad:
dear sir, your opening argument amused me most. "..you'll have to live the Islamic way,not moderated Islamic way but the real one". In this regard i will like to ask you:
- Says Who? (I will refer you to to read the transcript of QA's speech to 1st Constitutional Assembly of Pakistan on 1947.8.11?. I hope for you words of Father (if you take him as father of nation) of nation will weigh more than anyone else?)
- What is Islamic "way"? (Who will define that certain specifications are THE Islamic way, may be Zia-ul-Haq will be the right person, or the clerics who spent their life span proving the person of other religious group will rot in hell)
- What is real Islamic way? (Sunni, Shiite, Talebani, Sufi, Barelvi, Wahabi, Maliki, or may be the only real is what you personally believe in)
For your "Love of prophet", all I have to say is everyone has (and will) their own definition of this love. Please respect others' definitions of love just as you want yours to be respected. It is certainly your right and your decision to manifest it through boycotting FB. Others may choose different combination for the same.
Lastly, for your "..And I suppose you 'll say next that I don't believe in Muhammad pbuh as he was illiterate". This assumption at your end really demonstrates what you have already judged about me, isn't it? Commiseration enough though, without my implying so, you have already assumed what I will say next and have already passed your judgment on that too. But then may be this depicts exactly what I wanted to highlight. We can't tolerate different opinion. We all like to argue later, but love to judge/label/isolate beforehand. But maybe this is the way we have evolved intellectually as the nation. Clearly there is an ocean of difference between our definitions of “uneducated/illiterate”. No-where I mentioned word prophet, but in your emotionally charged argument you have already fantasized that must have said that. Well certainly you can not equate the knowledge and wisdom of Prophet with that of Mr. Usmani or for that matter any “Hazrat” that you like to follow. Well just to keep the record straight, I think Prophet was very wise and very thorough (apart from having numerous other good qualities) in his message.

ahmed said...

@ Leviathan
I am in agreement with your definition of “infidel”. Except (I think) this term has more to do with concept of religion/God (theological) than life (social). So I think “universal facts of life” does not fit very rightly in this definition for me. May be universal facts of religion/faith/God etc. But then fact for one religion is absurd for another. Here, then we approach individualistic definition. Infidel for one may not be so for another. Like you may assume me to be one, but there will 100s other who will think otherwise.
Secondly, I used the “chaste people” term a bit sarcastically, and in “present tense” (if you re-read the sentence). Clearly, you don’t approve of sarcastic words in conversation. So, what I meant was “Holier than thou” people commonly available (please mind the present tense, so am talking about 2010 not 650 AD, so please refrain from over reading and assumptions related to people who are revered, to add weight to your argument, am sure no one is equal to Prophet and his companion in current PK) in our society (Pakistan, not S.Arab).
Thirdly, I think, if you see you have numerated me the rituals (Namaz, Teachings of Quran/Sunah) of Islam, and Linguistics (like origination of word Allah) not “Arabic cultural behaviors”. I think, religious practices are universal and always independent of culture of place and linguistics are always adopted and dropped with passage of time. Culture and religious rituals are two different spheres, though they heavily influence each other (e.g. Namaz is offered after being covered in proper dress, but that dress can follow local cultural fashions ranging from trousers to dhoti). My point was, we can offer all the religious practices while remaining perfectly in cultural norms of Pakistan. I have personal experiences to refer to, but they would lengthen the talk and also they are individualistic, so I think they don’t prove anything as society is very different at every turn. So what I think is, namaz is as good in shalwar kameez as it is in trouser/shirt. No where I implied that I meant “chaste poeple” as companions of Prophet or prophet himself, I meant people who are (ARE) more interested in getting you wear shalwar kameez that to invite you for prayers or preach you to be honest in daily life (again please note am not against beard, incase someone might be assuming that).
Rest assured nothing I said was to humor you. That would be very un-polite at my end. But if you take something personally, I am sorry and take my words back.
And I agree fully with you on “there is no religion higher than the truth” and “..don’t need a fellow being to tell us what is what and what is naught”. But the problem starts when we like only the “truth” part we want to like, rest we discard because our biases don’t let us see through the truth. I think discussions, respect for others’ beliefs and grace to accept the rightfulness of other will always result in better understanding.
@ Catgirl: Thank you for the pre-emptive warning of “tone down ur usage of words when talking about religious personalities of modern day”. I wonder what made you assume that I will be spewing contempt for religious people. I may have difference but that doesn’t mean I hate them. So much for my tries, of not being stereotypical person. It is your blog, you place, you own it, whatever you don’t like of my comments, please feel free to delete that. I will apologies and take my words back.

cheers and regards

@Cat girl,I'm quite calm...
And about your saying that
"here was no such thing as taliban in the days of Prophet(PBHU) so def. any STATEMENT for/against them has to be based on IJMA (consensus of opinion). or Qiyas(analogical deduction)...the 2 strongest pillars of wisdom after Holy Quran and SUnnah !!"
Well then here's the surprise that Quran and sunnah, disapprove of women wearing shirts and going in public. Moreover,Taliban is like "bad sey badnam bura'.70% of the bombers allegedly known as Taliban turned out to be non-Muslims physically.
I'm not a extremist but I'm not a liberal person either.I only try to do what Islam really wants us to do.
I won't give out point of view here too if Ahmed hadn't shown his.

I hope my comment is quite mild.?

Javed Hayat said...

To answer your first paragraph: Imagine 3 individuals standing in single line, with varying height, about 4 feet, to 5 a half, and 6 and half in height, respectively. When asked individually, each held a varying opinion as to the other’s stature. The shortest apparently defined the rest of his colleagues as “tall” and “very tall” respectively and when the same inquiry was made to the tallest of the gentlemen, his opinion about the rest of the two happened to be exactly the opposite.

So what do u do then? You ask Someone who is infinitely higher in wisdom and is oblivious to the prejudices possessing these gentlemen and often has better of their sense of judgment. Because you see, how vain and subjective the individualistic definitions are prone to be…

Opinions and individualistic definitions vary, but truth, universal as it is, remains singular. And the facts that govern our social or individual lives are also universal in retrospect and our actions and conduct has consequences that have a collective universal impact in the long run…

Coming to your second point: Thanks for clarifying your point further relating to the chaste people. I must also point out that be this 2010 or 650 AD, the fundamentals of life remain the same. Because the more people change, the more they stay the same.
You were rather explicit in your contempt of the chaste people trying to impart upon you the knowledge of the holy, which actually led me to think that perhaps you would hold the same level of contempt for the chaste people of 1400 years ago as you do for the present ones. One must be consistent in one’s beliefs, don’t you think…

Of course, it is not about what you wear when you offer namaz, it may certainly vary from shalwar kameez to whatever, but so long as it fulfills the conditions prescribed by Islam in order for the dress to be eligible for the state of namaz. Surely you know what conditions in terms of attire I am referring to, if not, I would be more than happy to entail it for you. Again, you don’t need chaste people to tell u what they are, you can always relate to the Source, and I assure you that manual he provided to us 1400 years ago is just as authentic.

Coming to your apology, none required. It’s nothing personal, I assure you.

Your final point: I agree with your assessment that “But the problem starts when we like only the “truth” part we want to like”. Absolutely true.

Again, I am here trying to stress on the same point. We, as humans, will always be victims of our own devices when it comes to our personal judgments. The problem not only starts when we like only the “truth” part we want to like, but also the part we are able to see. And we are not able to see much, I assure you that. Man will never be a liable source to discover truth on his own accord. (When I say truth, here I am strictly referring to the theological ones, so need not read too much into it). When we start treating truth on the individual level, it becomes a misnomer. Truth can ill afford to have variations, especially the higher form of it relating to Religion and God.

OMG @Ahmed do u even know me to pre-judge me......
u r being too skeptical arguing about things which i never said like "prophet" and "Usmani"...
I thought that u represented those who place science above all... my opening argument... well people who fail to give concise and clear definitions dont get any credit from scientific community so keep on laughing :) if something is vague then its not a proven fact and it is still out there to be discovered...
Well i try to put word of Allah and Muhammad PBUH above everything, Quran and sahi hadith are the authentic source if thats something of interest to you.
the question is not What is Islamic "way"? rather it is
are u thirsty enough to know what it is :)
When people embrace Islam in Europe or America they follow the Islamic way cuz they really like it :) it means "The Islamic Way" is out there and it is attracting ppl from around the world. who has forced them to have a beard or wear a hijab (for everyones information i am talking about Caucasians if race matters to those reading) Alhamdulillah I love it when i see such ppl.
I never asked anyone to quit fbook?? bro i am done with social networking :) i dont know how much i can resist the seduction though :) they just keep on emailing
as for your assumtion that i will say that Naozubillah
"u don't believe in Muhammad pbuh" i can only say this, when you declare it yourself that you are not a muslim. I firmly believe in hadith that we should be 100% sure about someone's faith to declare someone as infidel otherwise the declaration will return to us and it wont be a fatwa it will be From Allah.
Sir "but love to judge/label/isolate beforehand"
weren't you the one who did it??
Who am i to question about someone's Love to Prophet (PBUH) and Allah those who do it need to learn the teachings of Prophet(PBUH) and how Arrogance can eat good deeds.
